		<description><![CDATA[California will of course be requesting stimulus funds from the $8 billion assigned to high-speed rail in the federal stimulus bill, and potential smaller projects necessary for HSR have been submitted for consideration. California&#039;s project is the furthest along (as compared to other potential HSR corridors around the country) and is in a good position to receive a good chunk of those funds, but it&#039;s not clear exactly how much yet.]]></description>
