On the occasion of BART&#039;s middle age, it&#039;s probably worth mentioning that the agency is in the process of changing direction. Over time, it intends to become more of a true urban metro -- more stations and trains in the core, cars designed for faster boarding, perhaps even limited-stop service. On its 60th birthday, I think we may be very happy for BART indeed (granted, these things take awhile ...).]]></description>
